Youth Engagement Grants

Over the past 30 years, the Grays Harbor Community Foundation has proudly supported youth throughout Grays Harbor County. We have funded youth sports programs, field trips, after school programs, early learning initiatives and other student enrichment programs all designed to enhance the lives of youth and families in Grays Harbor County.

To celebrate our 30th anniversary this year, the Grays Harbor Community Foundation is launching our Youth Engagement Grants program. These grants were established to provide funding for programs that directly benefit youth in Grays Harbor County.

Preference will be given to organizations that want to create a new program or service and/or enhance a current program within an organization.  Nonprofits, school districts and other youth serving organizations are eligible to apply.

Amount: Up to $5,000

Requirements:

  • Grant funds must be spent directly on youth 18 and under in Grays Harbor County
  • Up to $5,000 can be requested for one or more projects/programs per organization
  • Special consideration is given to programs that either benefit many youth or give youth an opportunity they might not otherwise be able to access or afford
  • Preference given to projects that will benefit youth for years to come
  • Funds must be expended within 6 months

Grant Program Details:

  • Awards may be used for any purpose which benefits youth
  • Awards up to $5,000
  • Recipients must complete a Final Report detailing how they utilized funding

Examples of Eligible Projects:

  • Youth sports programs
  • After school programming enhancements
  • Special field trips
  • Cultural opportunities

Examples of programs typically NOT funded:

  • Fundraising events
  • Facility improvements
  • Venue rentals
  • General operations
  • Classroom supplies or any school costs that are normally covered by the school district

Granting Timeline: September 16 – November 8.
