The Grays Harbor Community Foundation addresses community needs by supporting nonprofit organizations throughout Grays Harbor County, Washington. We recognize that the needs of our community are many; its problems, complex. We support organizations in arts and culture, education, health, human services, and community development. Grant applications from all nonprofit organizations that meet our priorities and that are serving local residents are welcomed and encouraged. (Please note: Grants must directly serve residents of Grays Harbor County.) These guidelines are meant to help and encourage nonprofit organizations in requesting financial support from the Grays Harbor Community Foundation. This application is intended to show the clarity, thought, and process that our committee requires from successful grant applications. There is also a complete and correct Budget Template for BOTH the Project and Organization Budget that can be used as a tool for applicants to follow.
It is NOT intended to be a “right answer” in terms of what we fund, exact language, types of support we are willing to provide, etc. This sample grant application covers the areas of description, timeline, budgeting, evaluation and sustainability that are sometimes difficult to explain or visualize for first-time or inexperienced applicants.
